Visit these real life Marvel film locations

The beauty of a motorhome trip is that you can completely tailor your roadie to cover all your specific interests. Foodies? History buffs? Sports fans? Well, for all you Marvel Universe fans, here are a bunch of Marvel cinematic movie locations that you can visit in real life.

Black Panther, Iguazu Falls

Pick up your Argentina motorhome rental and head for the jaw-dropping Iguazu Falls along the borders of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. This deafeningly loud location was used to create wide shots during the Black Panther vs. Killmonger ceremonial fight. The falls are within Iguazu National Park which is relatively far from the capital Buenos Aires, however, we recommend adding this location to your list. It’s worth the 15-18 hour drive (in segments of course) if you want to be the next King of Wakanda.

Iron Man 2, Randy’s Donuts

Randy’s Donuts in Los Angeles was a set for Iron Man 2

Mmm donuts… Do you remember that scene where Tony Stark is lounging in the iconic doughnut on top of Randy’s Donut shop? Well, this place actually exists in Inglewood, California and has been in a number of other films too. Located right next to Los Angeles International Airport, you’re able to collect your Los Angeles RV rental and head straight for treats. Get your much needed giant donut selfie then stock up on all your favourite flavours including the chocolate iced cake. We highly recommend stopping by - what’s a road trip without snacks?

Thor: The Dark World, Old Royal Naval College

Old Royal Naval College in London

This location is moody! Not only are you visiting an epic battle scene location between the almighty Thor and Dark Elf Malekith, but you’re able to wander around the various architectural wonders of this historical Royal Naval College. Located along the banks of the scenic River Thames, this is the perfect place to park up your London motorhome rental and take a wander around the grounds, including the Maritime Museum onsite. Once you’re finished, head off in any direction and follow one of our epic UK itineraries.

The Avengers, Tower City Centre

Did you know much of the scenery you see in the Avengers was filmed in and around parts of Cleveland, Ohio? Filming took place in shopping malls, museums, highways and universities as well as the iconic Tower City Centre. If you’re a fan of the Avengers films, don’t miss out on exploring Cleveland - the foodie scene is mouthwatering and you may just find yourself chowing down on something delicious on an ex-film set. Picking up an RV Rental in Chicago is a good choice as it’s close to Ohio and we highly recommend the trip over, especially being so close to Lake Erie.

Thor: Ragnarok, Tamborine National Park

Tamborine National Park was used for filming parts of Thor: Ragnarok

This lush green rainforest was used for filming during Thor: Ragnarok. Remember the Forest of Asgard scenes where Heimdall leads refugees through to a safer area in the mountains? Well, you too can wander through some of the many scenic walks or hikes on offer in Tamborine National Park. Pack your togs! Because Cedar Creek Falls is another nearby attraction worth checking out while you’re in the area. Take a dip in the natural swimming hole and then grab a bite to eat at the Cedar Creek Estate Vineyard and Winery. We recommend picking up a Brisbane motorhome rental before heading off - it’s an easy, hour-long drive away.

Spiderman: Homecoming, Cartersville

Why Cartersville? Well, it’s an adorable little city in Northwest Georgia where much of Spiderman: Homecoming was filmed. Not only was a bunch of the set here, but there are also numerous Marvel walking tours you can do around this charming location. Georgia as a state is kind of a big deal when it comes to filming with screen favourites like Walking Dead and Stranger Things created there. An Atlanta RV rental will do the trick - head north and explore Cartersville, then on to wider Georgia or wherever your Marvel loving heart takes you.

Guardians of the Galaxy, Liège-Guillemins Railway Station

The futuristic Liège-Guillemins Railway Station

There aren’t too many real life locations you can actually visit from Guardians of the Galaxy, but the stunning Liège-Guillemins railway station in Liège is one of them. You may remember during the beginning of the film when the aliens are arrested in Xandar? That was actually filmed at the railway station. Its futuristic architecture is worth wandering around even if you’re not catching the train. Liège as more to offer the motorhome traveller including medieval buildings, museums and art galleries along the picturesque Meuse River.

We could carry on, but hopefully, some of these Marvel film locations are enough inspiration to gather your Marvel loving friends or family and add some of these real filming locations to your motorhome holiday itinerary.

Exploring by motorhome is my favourite way to immerse myself in a different place/culture. My favourite so far? The Southern States of the USA - epic food, amazing people and the most beautiful scenery. I could go on about that trip forever!
