Jucy was founded across the ditch in New Zealand in 2001. Tim and Dan Alpe, brothers and business partners, have since grown the company to include locations in three countries and a fleet of nearly 3000 hire vehicles.

The distinctive green and purple vans are becoming a common sight on both sides of the Tasman, and they are a great choice for your next campervan rental in Australia. Drive the coasts for a beachy road trip, brave the heat of Northern Queensland for fun in the sun, venture into the Outback for an other-worldy adventure, or go south to lush Tasmania and cosmopolitan Melbourne. With your bed on wheels, it is easy to set your own pace and your own itinerary.

The reviews are in: Jucy rentals at the top of their game

Fast becoming a household name on the rental market, Jucy has also received the Golden Backpack Award for Best Car/Camper Rental in New Zealand in 2013 and the six consecutive years before that. It has been a finalist in the same category in Australia and has grown to include rental depots in five locations all over the country. The many happy Jucy customers are a testament to the quality of this fun and adventurous company.

What to expect: Your Jucy campervan in Australia

Jucy campers include unlimited kilometres, free 24-hour roadside assistance, standard insurance with excess and maps to guide you on your adventure. Bedding and cooking essentials are also provided free of charge with every rental. GPS units and picnic tables can be booked for a small additional charge.

The Australian depots are located in Sydney, Brisbane, campervan hire from Melbourne, Perth and Cairns. Jucy doesn't have a depot available for pick up in Tasmania, however you can catch the Spirit of Tasmania across to Australia's southern isle in your campervan rental. You can pick-up in one city and drop-off in another for a real campervan hire adventure - one-way fees are waived for rentals of 20 days or more.

There are four vehicle types in the Jucy Rentals Australia fleet:

  • The smallest and most basic are the 2-berth Jucy Crib and Jucy Sleeper, both featuring a double bed, very simple kitchen facilities and not much else. They are perfect for those who want wheels and a bed without all the frills.

  • The Jucy Grande has berths for four, one double in the main cabin and another in the pop-up ‘penthouse.’ It has a gas cooker, fridge and sink.

  • Complete with portable toilet, DVD player and dining area is the 4-berth Jucy Condo, great for a family campervan rental holiday in Australia. The custom-built interior is a marvel of optimised space.
