Ultimate in style, sexiest motorhomes in the world

While conventional camping stereotypes imply roughing it, a motorhome road trip can be the exact opposite, incorporating glamour and luxury with a sense of adventure. If you get the right vehicle, there’s no need to sacrifice your creature comforts. A plush rental can come equipped with everything you require for the smoothest ride of your life!

From touch-screen technology and heated flooring, to full laundry facilities and master suites, the world of swanky RVs and motorhomes is truly astounding.

Cream of the motorhome crop

The world’s most expensive and luxurious homes on wheels are beyond the reach of most mere mortals, but just in case you do have a ridiculous amount of cash burning a hole in your bank balance, here are a few of the best:

  • eleMMent Palazzo. A funny name for an unusual-looking but fabulous vehicle. This is at the top of most luxury motorhome lists, including those on therichest.com and thrillist.com. From the leather-clad rotating lounger chairs in the control centre/cabin to a master suite complete with rainfall shower head, it is fitted out with nothing but the best... and a romantic fireplace. The roof even houses a covered patio with a heated floor. Over the top? We think so, but still wouldn’t say no to a week in this monster! However, It will set you back close to US$3 million.

  • While Germany may be renowned for reliability and functionality, the Futuria Caravan Salon looks like something from a Formula One pit-lane! Essentially an 18-wheel truck, it has everything you could imagine in a swanky motorhome, up to and including a white leather dinette booth, but that’s not the most outrageous part. On the roof is an 11-foot terrace with jacuzzi. You heard right, a hot tub. There is also a garage for your sports car, so you won’t have to leave the Ferrari at home.

  • The Unicat Amerigo International looks rough and tumble on the outside, and it is - a 4X4 constructed like an army support truck, that can handle most terrains all over the globe. And while that’s impressive, it’s the creature comforts found inside the hardy interior that really blow your mind. It boasts a queen-sized bed, bathroom, galley complete with water decontamination system and space for supplemental vehicles. The solar panels and gas tank, which holds enough for 2000 miles on the road, mean you will be completely free to explore in imperious style.

Luxury motorhome rental

Of course, you won’t find any of the above to rent. However, it is possible to travel in luxury with the biggest and best available all over the world. Motorhome Republic has the full range of motorhomes, RVs and campervans to hire, from converted sleepervans to Class A monsters. Here are some ideas for a classy, comfortable road trip in any part of the world:

Australasia: Rent a motorhome in Sydney and get driving in this unique country! The vehicles here are a little more understated than you might find elsewhere in the world, but you can still pick up something sizeable and comfortable, like a Maui Platinum River 6-Berth or a Hercules 6-Berth from Star Drive motorhomes. These generally come equipped with three double beds, full kitchen and bathroom facilities, air con and heating, awnings, TVs and more - all you could need for a fantastic holiday. They are also self-contained, so you can take the path less travelled and really explore amazing Australia in a Motorhome rental. Or consider New Zealand for your campervan hire roadtrip.

Europe: Motorhome Republic can find you something amazing to rent from Paris - like the Hymer Carado 6-berther from Autocaravan Express, or similar vehicles from Big Sky and Avis. Late model and well-appointed, they make it easy to visit France and the rest of Europe with little luxuries you have in your own home, plus all the wine and cheese you could want. Something as simple as hot water is what takes an average road trip to the next level! The site features suppliers in major cities all across the continent - Germany has some big seven-berth motorhomes, such as this G Campervan from Big Sky. Popular European locations for motorhome rental include a Campervan Hire Iceland and a France Motorhome Rental.

North America: This is where the stakes are raised. Plan a holiday departing somewhere like Los Angeles or Toronto and you can rent the RV of your dreams. Take this MHA RV from Pure Motorhomes - it has a full kitchen including oven and microwave, all the mod-cons, its own generator, TV and DVD player, plus slide-outs for extra space when parked. It also has beds for a grand total of eight people. Another mega-camper available from Motorhome Republic is this FS31 Class C slide-out from Compass. Late-model and nearly 10m long, it’s like a hotel room on wheels (a hotel room for up to four adults and three children) and lacks nothing in terms of appliances and facilities. Compass even allow you to take your pets along for the ride!

Africa: Big campervans are also available in some parts of Africa. For example, in Namibia you can pick up a late-model Discoverer 6 from Energi Motorhomes and enjoy a self-contained adventure in perfect comfort. In other places, the biggest and most luxurious motorhomes look a little different. The height of luxury in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, is a Landcruiser 4X4 with roof tents. Elegant? Perhaps not, but eminently practical for safari-style road trips.

I love travelling, and a motorhome is such a great way to get around and get up close and personal with a new country or city. My top motorhome memory is driving a small sleepervan through the highlands of Scotland- a stunning nation and one of my favourite spots on earth! I hope to help you plan your next road trip with handy tips and information. Happy motoring!
